‘I am Iron Man!’ is what Ozzy Osbourne sang back in Black Sabbath (older readers will understand), ‘I am the Iron Series’ is something DXRacer can do now: with the new Iron Series DXRacer has put a new premium model on the market! Its sturdiness and additional features (see below) are top-notch, so the Iron Series quickly became a great alternative for anyone looking into the Formula Series or Drifting Series. Is the DXRacer Iron Series a great choice for you as well? Well, let’s find out!
Is the DXRacer Iron Series right for you?
Even though it’s called ‘Iron Man’, you don’t actually have to be as heavy as the real Iron Man to fit on this gaming chair. This is by the way the single most important point when buying a gaming chair: every DXRacer is designed for a certain body size and weight, so you should definitely always choose your chair accordingly. The DXRacer Iron Series is designed for the following gamers:
DXRacer Iron Series: Body Size
The Iron Series is designed to fit the average gamer: the maximum height you should have for this model is 6’3“, or 1.90m for our metric friends over in Europe. Up until that maximum, the chair should be pretty comfortable for you. If you’re taller though, then you should definitely look at other chairs like e.g. the DXRacer King Series.
DXRacer Iron Series: Weight Limit
Here lies the big advantage of the new Iron Series: because of the reinforced aluminum base and the steel framework inside the chair, it is designed for gamers up to 300(!) lbs (or 135kg). Other chairs like the Formula or Racing Series look similar at first sight, but only support gamers up to a weight of 200 lbs. So: if you’re an average gamer with a little more weight, the Iron Series is the best gaming chair for you.
DXRacer Chairs: Basic Features
The DXRacer Iron Series is pretty new on the market, but still offers the same common features like all DXRacers:
Feature | Explanation |
---|---|
Height Adjustment: | Even if you weight 300 lbs, the DXRacer Iron Series' height can still be adjusted by pulling the small lever underneath the seat cushion. |
Steel Framework: | So, how does a computer chair support up to 300 lbs? Well, it's all on the inside: all DXRacer chairs have a super sturdy steel framework inside of them that acts like a 'skeleton'. |
Ergonomic Shape: | Even though there might be 300 lbs of raw gaming performance playing games on it, the DXRacer Iron Series still offers a 135 degrees recline if you need to 'lounge' in between eSprots matches. |
Two Additional Cushions: | All DXRacer Series (besides the Classic Series) offer an ergonomically shaped back rest and seat position to perfectly match the target group's body shape. Most other chairs have e.g. flat seats and back rests, so the DXRacer ones will rather feel like a shell or even cocoon for your back. |
Features of the DXRacer Iron Series
But: where are the differences between the Iron Series and other DXRacers?
Reinforced Aluminum Base:
As mentioned above, the Iron Series has a reinforced aluminum base for added stability – stronger than any standard series.
4D Arm Rests:
While nearly 95% of all gaming chairs only offer height adjustment for their arm rests, the Iron Seriers offers three more dimensions to adjust them: up/down, forward/backwards and rotation!
Additional Cushioning:
The Iron Series’ seat is thicker and has additional cushioning compared to most other DXRacer chairs like the Formula or Drifting Series.
