Just like in our DXRacer Guide, we’re always trying to bring more transparency into the very confusing gaming chair market – so that everyone out there can buy the best model for his or her needs. Just when looking for an AKRacing gaming chair, you’ll find a lot of different AKRacing models without knowing where the differences actually are. How should you know anyway – it’s pretty much hidden on the site and you’re on your own. Having a lot of different models is good on the one hand (more to choose from, yay!), but bad on the other hand: which one is the right one for you?
We’ll explain you all the differences to find the best AKRacing chair for you RIGHT HERE (yes, capslock)!
Basic Features of EVERY AKRacing:
An important info at the start: the differences between the various AKRacing series are pretty minor, especially compared to the different DXRacer series. DXRacer has some ‘more extreme‘ models specifically for heavy or tall gamers, whereas AKRacing chairs are all aimed at the average gamer. Here are the basic features of all AKRacing chairs:
Feature | Explanation |
---|---|
Height Adjustment: | Every AKRacing's height can be adjusted via a class-4 gas lift, just by pulling a small lever underneath the seat. That way you can have it fit to your body size and computer table. |
Recline up to 120°: | Yes, nearly every computer chair's back rest can recline. But: only specialized gaming chairs like the ones from AKRacing offer an extreme recline up to 120 degrees. Perfect for that quick power nap between games! |
330lbs Weight Limit: | Let's be honest here: not every gamer has the ideal weight, some of us are rather 'large'. That's OK though and nothing to be ashamed of, especially when it comes to AKRacing chairs: every AKRacing chair is designed to support gamers up to 330 lbs! |
Steel Framework: | To support all that weight, every AKRacing chair is designed with a super sturdy steel framework inside. This construction method is the main difference between cheap and expensive gaming chairs. |
The different AKRacing Series in detail:
So – what are the actual differences between the various AKRacing Series? Let’s shed some light on that and go through all the different AKRacing series you can buy on the market right now!
AKRacing K7012
The ‘K7012‘ is (despite the odd sounding name) the ‘classic’ AKRacing gaming chair that started it all. Especially the price tag is nice: for less than 300 USD it’s quite affordable. One reason for that is the use of fabric instead of artificial leather, which is always something that increases the price tag.
AKRacing Nitro
The AKRacing Nitro Series is very much the same as the AKRacing K7012 mentioned above when it comes to features, shape and size. There’s just one big difference: instead of using fabric as a cover material, the AKRacing Nitro uses artificial leather. This looks fancier and is easier to maintain – but also drives up the price by 50 USD.
AKRacing Premium v2
The AKRacing Premium v2 has a very different shape compared to both series mentioned above: the shoulder area is way wider and more flat, which allows more freedom to move around in the chair. It still offers the comfortable shoulder padding and proper side support. The AKRacing Premium v2 is only available with artificial leather and a good, universal choice.
AKRacing ProX
The ProX is a newer model within AKRacing‘s product lineup, that has been developed for heavier gamers with a larger body. The chair has a wider and deeper seat area, and the back rest is also broader. Even the steel framework inside the chair has been reinforced for that added stability. The ProX is only available with artificial leather.
AKRacing Prime
The AKRacing Prime is (as the name already implies) the entry level gaming chair by AKRacing. Despite the lower price tag, the ‘Prime’ offers all the standard features of AKRacing chairs. The model’s size and basic shape are also very similar to the AKRacing Nitro. It’s still hard to get the AKRacing Prime in the US, but this might get better soon.
AKRacing Player
If you like a fancier design and consider yourself a ‘player’, you might want to risk a look at the AKRacing Player Series: the back rest features a fancy arrow design that is definitely an eye-catcher in every gamer’s room. It is perfect for average body sizes and great to look at – even though the price tag is not as high as you might expect. For me personally the best AKRacing Chair available!
AKRacing Rush
The AKRacing Rush is also tailored towards the average size gamer and doesn’t differ from other AKRacing series that much when it comes to size and shape. The only bigger difference is the pretty sweet two-tone design, made out of artificial leather.
Which AKRacing Chair is the right one for me?
If you’ve also read our DXRacer Guide then you realized that the differences between the AKRacing models are very minor in comparison. Most models only differ visually, while the features and sizes are very similar. There is no ‘extreme‘ AKRacing model like the DXRacer Tank, which is 30% bigger than other series; that’s why for average gamers, every AKRacing chair will be a great fit! If you’re different though, you might want to take a look at our gaming chair guide – as we’ve highlighted gaming chairs for taller and/or heavier gamers there.
